By Jonesy Yin (a.k.a. Jonesy the Jack Russell Terrier)
Over the last year it has come to my attention and to the attention of my beloved human, Dr. Sophia Yin……..
That I am a star!!!
I'm practically the focal point of several chapters in the Low Stress Handling, Restraint and Behavior Modification of Dogs & Cats Book, not to mention all of my video spots in the accompanying DVD. And I know how much my mom talks about me in her lectures and seminars around the globe. Which means my fame is international!
Like my mom, I want to help people understand their pets—even their cats—so they can be as happy as ME. (My mom says “me” is gramatically wrong, but Hey.. I'm a dog! I don't care!). So I have an announcement.
I just started my own Facebook fan page and will be guest blogging on this Animal Behavior and Medicine Blog regularly. Unfortunately, I am limited by the fact that I have to rely on my mom to actually post these blogs, since, as smart as I am, I have no fingers with which to type. But I hope to post something here and on my Facebook page once a week. In the meantime, just in case you don't know much about me, here's my bio.
Bio for Jonesy Yin
I love to run, jump, and karate kick people and dogs in the leg. I swear like a sailor, but I'm cute and know a lot of tricks, so everyone thinks I'm adorable.
Suckers! I have them all fooled!
My human is Dr. Sophia Yin. And because she's a veterinarian …and animal behaviorist, she can keep me in line. She says I need to keep busy so we have a full schedule—fetch, biking, running, agility, nosework, tricks. And during the day when we're “at work,” I get to turn on the lights, deliver notes, put papers in the recycle bin, and skateboard up and down the halls.
My biggest downfall, and the trait that keeps my mom from getting bored is that I am afraid of all kinds of things—backpacks, boxes, brooms, and anything familiar that suddenly moves or appears out of nowhere. Due to my Jack Russell Terrier nature and my anger management issues, I express it by yelling and swearing! I especially hate dogs that bark and lunge at me on walks or puppies who threaten to step on me or bounce me around like a basketball. Note to such dogs… DON'T DO THAT!
I love all kinds of toys, especially those belonging to other dogs, and those that my mom brings home from her worldly travels. After I play with a toy once though, it's just not as fun anymore, unless it's my squeaky tennis ball and the squeak still works!
If you wanna be hip. If you wanna cool.
