Jonesy Learns to Ride a Skateboard

It's fun and easy to train dogs to ride a skateboard. But what's even better is that the steps used in training this trick are useful as a game for keeping your dog focused on you and happy around objects that scare him. In other words, the games help him to associate being near or stepping on slightly scary objects with fun! I train dogs to step on mildly scary objects repeatedly. If the objects is so scary they won't immediately step on it, then I have them work on stepping on other objects nearby or on my feet repeatedly. The goal is that they perform the stepping quickly so that they are so focused on having fun that they are not thinking about the scary object.
