Group Classes
In the course of several months, we turned a dog that I never through could work as my service dog into a well-behaved, attentive helper both at home and at school.

Dog Training and Other Classes in Davis, CA

Dr. Yin, along with her co-instructor, Melissa Morris, CPDT-KA, teach a variety of group classes and workshops through the UC Davis Experimental College and elsewhere. These classes range from "Kitty Kindergarten" to "Doggie Playskills, have a high teacher-to-student ratio, include instructional materials, and allow participants to join Dr. Yin’s “Smart People Smart Pets” Yahoo Groups forum in which you can ask the questions you forgot to ask in class.

Can’t Make These Dates or Time?

  1. Find 3-4 friends and set-up a set of 4-6 semi-private group session for $100/class date OR for puppies, set up a puppy starter set of private sessions. For behavioral issues set up a behavior consult.
  2. Start with one of Dr. Yin’s books, DVD or other products. Dr. Yin starts all clients off on the Learn to Earn Program that’s laid out step-by-step in the Perfect Puppy in 7 Days.   3. Try one of the other classes taught by CPDT certified trainers in the Davis, CA area. They include Nancy Abplanalp’s classes at Thinkingdogs.net, Melissa Morris's classes through the Davis Community Services Department, and Lisa Mullinax's classes at 4pawsuniversity in Sacramento.

While she has not attended classes taught by all of the instructors the philosophy of the organizations is similar to Dr. Yin's and the organizations value the science and art of training (people and pets) as well as the importance of continual learning on the part of the individual instructors.
